Childcare Funding
Navigating childcare funding in the UK can be a complex journey. But understanding your options can make a significant difference.
From Sept 2024
Tax-Free Childcare (Age 0-11 yrs)
Available for working families, including the self-employed in the UK, with children under 12 (or under 17 if disabled). For every £8 you pay in, the government will add an extra £2, up to £2,000 per child per year - that's up to £500 every three months.
15hrs Funded Childcare
(Ages 9mths-2yrs)
Working families can also benefit from 15hrs funded childcare for 9mth-2yr olds.

15hr Funded Childcare
(Ages 3 & 4yrs)
All families in England with 3 & 4 yr old children can claim 15 hrs of funded childcare.

30hrs Funded Childcare
(Ages 3 & 4yrs)
Eligible Working families in England with 3 & 4yr old children can also claim an extra 15 hrs per week of funded children (30 hrs in total)
All funded hours have to be claimed on your behalf. Generally this has to be done at least 4-6 weeks prior to your child starting in order to ensure that the fees are paid in advance.
